About five years ago now I met a guy called John Triteos. He had leukaemia and The Trust asked me because of my Greek profile in Birds Of A Feather to see if I could get people from the Greek community to come forward as possible Bone Marrow Donors. Though The Trust eventually found a donor, it wasn't the right kind for him. Now I run in his memory. There are reasons I suppose to do with the fact that John was similar in age to me. I found myself feeling it could so easily have been me. In the brief period in which I got to know both him and his family I warmed to them each enormously. I try to keep Johns' memory alive in this way.
